Welcome Teachers, Parents,
Students and
School Administrators!
Under
the RoboNexus Educational
Outreach Program, school age children (K-12) in
association with school groups can attend the
RoboNexus Conference and Exposition
at no charge on Friday, October 7, 2005 to view the 50,000
square feet of stimulating robotics exhibitions and special
events, along with many exciting live demonstrations and robot
competitions.
Robots
and robotic technologies have an intellectual and emotional
appeal that transcends any other type of engineered product, and
this appeal is felt no more so than with children and young
adults. Robots and automative/robotic technologies represent a
practical application of physics, computer science, engineering,
and mathematics, and provide a very powerful and flexible
approach to demonstrate a variety of engineering concepts. In
addition, robotics appeals to a broad range of interests and
allows multiple points of access to science, mathematics, and
engineering for many types of learners. As a result, robotic
technology and robots can be used to inspire young people and to
help them discover the fun and excitement of technology through
participation in robotic competitions. But perhaps most
importantly for younger students, robots and robotic technology
inculcate an interest in science and increase self-esteem, as
well as teach basic life skills such as problem solving,
decision making, goal setting and logical thinking.

For robotics to inspire school age children, those
children must come into contact with multiple forms of
real world robots, meet with robotics experts and
interact their school age peers who are already involved
with robotics. To that end, Robotics Trends and IDG
World Expo, the producers of
RoboNexus, have
developed the RoboNexus Educational Outreach Program.
Under the RoboNexus Educational Outreach Program, groups
with school age children (K-12) can attend RoboNexus
free of charge on Friday, October 7, 2005 to view the
50,000 square feet of stimulating robotics exhibitions,
along with many exciting live demonstrations and robot
competitions. At RoboNexus, students will be able to
view and interact with hundreds of robots, including
many seen in the United States from the first time, and
meet dozens of robotics experts (including school age
participants in the many RoboNexus competitions).
