Telenoid, a child-size telepresence robot by Japanese roboticist Hiroshi Ishiguro, which was developed to be neither male or female and neither young nor old, certainly gets a high mark on the creepiness scale.

Osaka University’s Intelligent Robotics Laboratory is directed by Hiroshi Ishiguro. Their mission is to develop technologies for the new generation information infrastructures based on Computer Vision, Robotics and Artificial Intelligence.
