Trends Inc. Announces RoboNexus
2005
International Consumer,
Educational and Business
Development Event For Mobile
Robotics and Intelligent Systems
Doubles in Size and Expands to
Four Days in 2nd Year
NORTHBORO, MA, AND FRAMINGHAM,
MA, MARCH 2, 2005 -
Robotics Trends and IDG World
Expo today announced the launch
of the 2nd annual
RoboNexus
Conference and Exposition,
the international consumer,
educational and business
development event for mobile
robotics and intelligent systems
(http://www.robonexus.com). The
conference and exposition will
be held at the San Jose
Convention Center in San Jose,
CA on October 9-11, 2005.
According to Dan Kara,
conference chairman and
President of Robotics Trends,
"The inaugural
RoboNexus Conference and
Exposition attracted
more than 10,000 attendees over
three days, making it one of the
largest new conferences of 2004.
While the attendance figures
speak directly to the market for
such an event, it was the amount
of excitement that attended
RoboNexus that was truly
indicative of its impact on
North America and the world.
Personal, service and mobile
robotics is a wholly new,
rapidly expanding, multi-billion
dollar technology industry. To
better serve this young
industry, we are building on the
success of the 2004
RoboNexus
event, doubling the size of the
exposition floor to 100,000
square feet and extending the
length of the event from three
to four days.
According to Eliot Weinman, CEO
of Trendsmedia, the parent
company of Robotics Trends, “The
success of the inaugural
RoboNexus
event, along with the expansion
of the
RoboNexus 2005 Conference and
Exposition, two more
indications that we are
witnessing the emergence of a
completely new technology sector
–intelligent, mobile robotics.
This market has both
business-to-business and
consumer components to it, a
point that was driven home by
the wide variety of RoboNexus
attendee types – investment and
business development
professionals, educators and
academics, professional and
hobbyist robot developers,
representatives of Global 200
organizations, and robotics
enthusiasts and consumers, to
say nothing of the massive media
attention the event received. It
is clear that intelligent,
mobile robotics market, and with
it the
RoboNexus event, has
entered onto a growth phase
similar to that which the PC,
the mobile telephone and the
Internet have experienced in
past years.”
RoboNexus is produced
in collaboration with IDG World
Expo, a business unit of IDG,
the world’s leading technology
media, research and event
company. IDG World Expo
President, David Korse notes,
“IDG is extremely excited about
the success of the 2004
RoboNexus event and the launch
of the more expansive 2005
version. IDG World Expo, in
along with our partners at
Robotics Trends, believe that we
are witnessing the birth of a
new, unique technology market,
and one that requires its own
world-class event. That event is
RoboNexus.”
